In December 2023, PIKO ran a workforce development training program funded in large part by the Hawaii Community Foundation Maui Strong Grant focusing on building location independent careers for those affected by the fires on Maui. The course focused on skills needed to qualify for positions in the following fields: Bookkeeping, Administrative Staff (Virtual Assistants), Customer Service, and Marketing Assistants.
PIKO, a non-profit 501(c)3 on a mission to strengthen small businesses from the inside out is helping Maui people stay on Maui. We are launching a training program to help create location independent careers.
When it comes to rebuilding, Kalani has first-hand experience...
After her husband’s sudden and unexpected death in 2018, Kalani re-engineered her life and created the Nailena Consulting Group, with offices in South Lake Tahoe, Maui, and New Hampshire serving clients worldwide. Through her work in Nailena Consulting Group, she has co-founded Hawai'i's premier online Hawaiian educational program, Ka Hale Hoaka LLC, and a non-profit, PIKO, with a mission to strengthen small businesses from the inside out.
If you are a Maui resident who lost your job due to the wildfire, PIKO has just received grant funding to employ and re-train 20 participants. For this program, we will train you on the following services at $25/hour for 15 hours a week
